Jan. 19, 2022 – Great result today for a client in the United States District Court – Western District of Missouri! A criminal case that was apart of the highly reported on “Operation Legend” by the federal government was resolved finally today after years long delays due to Covid. My client accepted responsibility for their actions but the appropriate sentence was still in dispute and was argued accordingly by myself and the Government. I am happy to see that the Judge listened carefully to the particular circumstances to this matter and went in my direction and handed down a more just and appropriate sentence then the Government would allow themselves to agree to. The outcome was just above the minimum the law would allow for and a downward departure from the sentencing guidelines, which is the recommended range for a typical case such as this. Happy to go beyond the surface to help the Court understand as well as to provide my client with a proper and just outcome, free from unnecessary and excessive punishment, and a better and more hopeful second chance in life.
