Happy Labor Day!

To all my family, friends, and clients whom are the laborers that this holiday was intended to celebrate and pay respect to, I hope you are enjoying the day off and long weekend. This country started recognizing this holiday in late 1800s and early 1900s, to pay homage to the workers apart of labor unions. Hard for many to believe when I tell them, but I used to work in the construction industry growing up, although not union, and when going through school, and I continue to enjoy working with, and representing those whom work primarily with their hands as craftsman, artisans, and laborers. While I don’t do any collective bargaining on any union’s behalf, much of what I do in my practice is helping laborers in other legal problems that may arise in their life and their loved one’s life. Today, was no different, working to get the release from jail of a union family’s loved one whom surprisingly has spent a couple weeks there with no option to bail out. It may be the holiday weekend, but they called me Saturday, hired me on Sunday, and I worked today in hopes to enable his release on bond first thing tomorrow morning by the judge. Hope it goes well! Then I will cookout!
